Muster Thread
Well met, folks.
While we're waiting for all players to arrive, and character sheets to be generated, please introduce yourself in this thread.
First Name: Andy
From: Toronto, Canada
What RPG's (pnp) do you play: D&D (1e, 3e, 4e, 5e), RIFTS, Warhammer FRP (2e), Star Wars Saga Edition, Dungeon World
Ever played a Play-By-Post before?: Yep
What do you like about Play-By-Post?: Long-term, bite-sized bits of roleplaying day to day. An emphasis on roleplaying and narrative. Building a sense of community online.
What do you dislike about Play-By-Post?: Moves slowly. Life gets in the way of posting sometimes. Keeping enthusiasm going among strangers (but boy is it awesome when it happens!).
What would keep you playing Roots of Legend forever?: Patient players, who aren't afraid to tell me what they want more AND less of. Polite players that will participate on all fronts, and actively take responsibility for the rest of the group having fun. Communication about what's working and what's not. Epic moments.
Cheers

Hi!
First name: Ben
From: Sacramento, California, USA
RPGs: Vow of Honor, Forge of Valor, all D&D Editions, Fate, WEG Star Wars, Freeform Universal, SW Saga, Dogs in the Vineyard, etc etc etc.
PBP?: Yep.
Like about PBP?: More consistent shared storytelling, less focus on mechanical aspects. More time to consider things.
Dislike? Slow pace. Players that drop out or are infrequent posters.
Roots of Legend forever? A good group that communicates. Meeting expectations.

Re: Muster Thread
Hi, I'm Ryan. I'm currently in Tampa, FL. I've played a lot of DnD 3, 3.5, 4, and some 5. I've also played Dungeon World, SOIF rpg, and Apocalypse World. I've play tested some other systems, but never played them more than once. I've never been impressed by pbp. Most of the games I've played by post over the years have fallen apart after a few weeks due to drop outs or missing GMs. I'm really hoping this game being on its own board with an experienced pbp GM will make a big difference. I have always seen potential in pbp due to the consistency in role play and narrative. I also like that pbp by its nature keeps meticulous session notes.
Cheers!

Introduction
First Name: Bear (Jon)
From: Wisconsin, U.S.A
What RPG's do you play: D&D 4e, 5e (Now I do!), Dungeon World (DM-PbP), Pathfinder
Ever played a Play-By-Post before?: Yep
What do you like about Play-By-Post?: People get busy, but as long as you can take five minutes to jot a few notes and keep the action moving it really helps! Can't always get together and play, so this is a great alternative.
What do you dislike about Play-By-Post?: I get anxious for players to post when I DM Dungeon World, I know its PbP, but sometimes I can't help but be excited about the decisions they'll make.
What would keep you playing Roots of Legend forever?: Let's not be jerks and most importantly... Have FUN! That'd keep me playing for a very long time. Open communication would be great to keep the game moving forward and working as a team to go through scenarios.

Dwan Bolduum
First Name: Michael
From: Chicago, IL
What RPG's (pnp) do you play: I have played a little bit of D&D 3.5, a lot of 4.0 (w/ some DMing), and a few sessions of 5. Also played some Pathfinder, Mage the Awakening, Vampire the Masquerade, and I own the Mistborn RPG rulebook but haven't had time to run a game.
Ever played a Play-By-Post before?: Not really, so apologies in advance for the first couple of posts.
What do you like about Play-By-Post?: I do like the ability to focus in on the details while playing and looking at this thread there is some great storytelling that can come from PBP.
What do you dislike about Play-By-Post?: How easy it is for people to stop showing up.
What would keep you playing Roots of Legend forever?: A fun game with great storytelling. So far it seems like this is going down the right path.
Look forward to playing and posting.

Hail and well met!
Very pleased to be joining your ranks folks
First Name: Dan
From: Torontoish, Canada
What RPG's (pnp) do you play: D&D (1e,2e, 3e, 4e, 5e), Warhammer FRP (2e), Star Wars Saga Edition, Shadowrun, Star Trek 1976,
Ever played a Play-By-Post before?: Yessir
What do you like about Play-By-Post?: The opportunity to write everyday and to connect with interesting folks. Sharing a dialog through great narrative. Imagination, wonder, intrigue!
What do you dislike about Play-By-Post?: by it's nature slow or only one pace. I think there is an opportunity to focus in on a series of events, then sporatic posters. every single npc being a withholding hostile asshole.
What would keep you playing Roots of Legend forever?: Excitement adventure, juicy posts. Focus on an event or series of events followed by a FF **screen wipe** a short time later...
